This property boasts a well-established garden designed by Lady Tessa Hobbs with extensive herbaceous perennial borders, large mature shrubs, lavender hedges, climbing and shrub roses, wisteria, a grapevine pergola, olive trees, mature hydrangea 'Annabelle', large cottage garden borders, a large section consisting of a shady garden, a tree-lined walk, a courtyard garden with topiary box balls, an extensive fruit and vegetable garden with large fruit cage, large terraced raised beds and a greenhouse. There's a sizable collection of large Italian terracotta planters that are planted with seasonal bulbs and plants to maintain seasonal interest. My duties involve maintaining all borders, pruning wisteria, roses, grapevines, lavender, buxus balls, plant care, disease control and prevention, autumn mulching the borders, plant propagation, division, seed sowing, greenhouse management, preparation of borders for winter, and storing tropical plants for winter. Selecting plants for borders, creating colour combinations, and choosing plants, bulbs for planters.

WH is another beautiful property with a large garden situated in the Chilterns in Buckinghamshire. It is a very mature garden situated next to open farmland. The whitebeam tree lined driveway leads to an ornamental roundabout, and the front of the house boasts a stunning white Wisteria along with Choisya Aztec pearl hedges. The main garden consists of large herbaceous borders with mature shrub roses, extensive lawns featuring beautiful ornamental cherry blossoms and Eastern Redbud trees, a large nine arched pergola that comes to life in the Summer with stunning climbing roses, clematis and honeysuckle flowers. The pergola base is covered in a mass of beautiful hardy geraniums and alchemilla mollis which leads to the Summer house. A large ornamental hedge of dogwood lines a moat that runs between the boundaries to the adjacent property. There's a feature tree mound with silver birch trees at the end of the lawn, and a vegetable garden with raised beds and a wooden greenhouse. The main garden is cleverly separated by a beech hedge. There are two parterre beds featured at the entrance to the main garden. The pool garden consists of a large lawn, a long tree lined walk with pleached lime trees, and large shrubs to create privacy around the swimming pool. My duties include the upkeep of the whole garden. Seasonal pruning of roses, Wisteria, beech hedge, yew hedges, parterre hedge, managing herbaceous borders, vegetable garden, sowing seeds, taking cuttings, potting up seasonal flower planters, Autumn planting bulbs, looking after the compost bays, and creating compost and leaf mulch.

This very unique property has a stunning gravel courtyard garden with a long feature wall covered in pale yellow rambling rose ‘Albèric Barbier’. The focal point in this well-manicured garden is a large metal gazebo with a water feature in the centre. The gazebo comes to life from late Spring when it is covered in purple clematis and pale yellow honeysuckle. The base of the gazebo is planted up with Siberian Iris, day lilies, aquilegia, Lychnis, etc. There are three flower beds in the gravel garden that surround the gazebo, planted up with a matching scheme, and three bay shrubs carefully clipped and dotted around in the vicinity. From mid Spring to late autumn, this garden is buzzing with insects and pollinators. From the gravel garden, an English lavender hedged path leads you to the front door, which has a very well established Choisya Aztec pearl hedge on either side of it. At the back of the property there’s a vegetable garden with three large raised beds where seasonal vegetables are grown, one of which I have dedicated to growing asparagus in. My duties in this garden include the full maintenance of the gravel garden, pruning the large rambling rose hedge, Choisya hedge, buxus hedge, lavender hedge, bay bushes. I also tend to the vegetable garden including the asparagus patch, which is now well established and yielding a sizable home-grown harvest.
